Echo in the Vineyards
As part of our mission, Music in the Vineyards is dedicated to enriching people’s lives through the power of music, including providing music education to the young and access to music for people of all ages and walks of life. In addition to our regular festival concerts and educational offerings we also offer the following opportunities to engage with music here in the Napa Valley:
Free Open Rehearsals
When our festival is live, we offer open rehearsals throughout the festival free of charge for the community. These open rehearsals prove to be really popular every year and aim to give patrons an insight into how the musicians prepare for their performances. Held on Thursday afternoons, the open rehearsals feature repertoire which is to be performed in concerts on the weekend following the rehearsals. We usually have rehearsals taking place in at least two rooms and patrons are welcome to move from room to room during the afternoon. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, there is plenty of seating and the musicians look forward to sharing their work with you.
Pre-Concert Talks
When possible during the festival, we offer pre-concert talks for select concerts. These events are free and open for ticket-holders and take place immediately preceding the concert(s). Please see our festival schedule for full details.
Senior Centers & Youth Concerts
As part of our String Quartet Fellowship Program (link), the quartet performs free concerts in retirement communities, Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs, the Yountville Veterans Home, and other venues in the Napa Valley Community. These performances further Music in the Vineyards’ commitment to community engagement and to increase accessibility to chamber music.
