2021 Solo Instrumental Competition Guidelines
General Guidelines
Application Deadline:
Applications must be received by Monday, April 12, 2021 to be considered for the 2021 Solo Instrumental Competition. Once the application is received we will send you a file request link via email to upload your recordings and you will have until Monday, May 3, 2021 to submit your videos. Click here to complete the Application Form online or Download a printable application.
After your application is received, we will send you an email with a file request link to upload your video(s) to our secure Dropbox account (you will not need a Dropbox account to upload your submission, there is a file request that will be sent directly to you that will link you to the download prompt).
Guidelines:
For your video audition, you should record two separate pieces (preferably by contrasting composers) from your classical music repertoire, each 2-5 minutes in length. Prior to playing please state your name, grade and age, composer and title of the piece, you do not have to record the whole piece if it is longer than 5 minutes. A total of 10 minutes for the combined recordings will be fine but if you need you may record up to 15 minutes, total. We know how difficult this year has been for musicians everywhere; if you usually need an accompanist but due to the pandemic you have to make a solo video, please don't worry, we will take this into consideration.
Prizes will be awarded on July 31, 2021, at the live recital. If the recital is online your prize will be mailed to you.
