Artistic Directors
Daria Tedeschi Adams

Violinist Daria Tedeschi Adams, the founding Co-Artistic Director of Music in the Vineyards, recently retired after a 37-year career with the world-renowned Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra with whom she toured the world: to Asia, Europe and across North America. Born and raised in New Jersey, Daria began the violin at age 9 and has a Bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory and a Masters degree from the State University of New York/Stony Brook. Daria has earned a reputation for developing innovative concert presentations of both traditional and new music, enhancing the listener’s experience in exciting new ways. She has finally realized her goal of living in California and is loving the Napa Valley life!
Michael Adams

Michael has carved out a unique career that has led down many roads: as a chamber musician, orchestral player, author, public radio host, and along with his violinist wife Daria, the founding Co-Artistic Director of Music in the Vineyards. As MITV’s concert commentator, Michael loves to make each composer more human — through insightful stories, explanations and analysis — creating multiple entry points into the music for the listener. Since retiring from the viola section of The Minnesota Orchestra, Michael has been the program annotator for The Schubert Club of Minnesota, the region’s oldest concert series. Michael and Daria are excited to be permanent residents of Napa after 30 years of “partial” residency every August.

Rebecca Blum – Executive Director
Rebecca joined Music in the Vineyards as Executive Director in July 2024. Raised in a musical family, it wasn’t until her senior year of high school—after hearing The Magic Flute—that Rebecca fully realized her love for classical music. She went on to attend the Oberlin Conservatory, earning a degree in Piano Performance and Music History/Theory, and initially considered pursuing a career in academia, beginning graduate studies in musicology at Columbia University.
However, the draw of working with live performing arts organizations led Rebecca to a career in orchestral management. She held positions with the New York Philharmonic, Honolulu Symphony, and Columbus Symphony before joining the San Francisco Symphony in 2004. Over the next 20 years, Rebecca was a member of the SFS leadership team, overseeing the Orchestra Personnel department and, in 2016, adding the Education department.
Although she continues to cherish orchestral music, Music in the Vineyards has held a special place in her heart since her first experience as a patron in 2018. She and her husband are excited to now call Napa home.
